The Project
The Oklahoma City Landfill on the west side of town eventually will be turned
over to the city for open space use. In expanding the landfill, Campbell Creek
will be moved to allow for maximum use of the space. Because of the
pre-existing landfill conditions, the project provides significant challenges and
opportunities.
The project goals included moving Campbell Creek in an environmentally
sensitive manner, with an ultimate goal of a more healthy stream corridor than
currently exists. Field inventory and analysis was used to identify
opportunities and constraints of the site. Trails were planned to connect to
surrounding existing and planned trails.
